I thought Overcooked looked like a ton of fun when I first saw it earlier this year, and we won’t have to wait much longer to find out if it’s well done or half-baked, as the game will hit PC and consoles on August 3. The chefly challenge will have up to four players cooperating to serve up the whims of demanding diners.
Players will be able to cooperatively take on 28 campaign levels that tell the epic story of the fight to save the Onion Kingdom. You’ll work in kitchens ranging from street festivals to pirate ships, and from food trucks to outer space, cooking up burritos and burgers and to keep your patrons satisfied, and save the world.
Could Overcooked be one of the best indie games on PC? We’ll find out soon!
The game will also feature 9 versus levels for chefs to go head to head in through vicious battles of kitchen dominance. The whole package looks great, and the official press release is filled with grade-A pun work. So romaine calm, it’s almost thyme for Overcooked to raise the steaks.
Overcooked is due out August 3. We’ll take a look as part of the GameWatcher Indie Showcase next week.
