Io Interactive has revealed the content that will be included when Hitman drops on March 11, 2016. You’ll be able to play through six campaign missions across three different locations - France, Italy and Morocco - as well as take part in user-built custom missions.
Following on from that will be several new locations, kicking off with Thailand in April, the USA in May and Japan in June. The extra content will all be included in the price of the base game.
If you just want to try out the initial missions and content, you can also opt for a $34.99 ’Intro Pack’, slightly less expensive than the full $59.99 game. Should you like what you play, you can upgrade for $29.99. It’s a brave new world, isn’t it?
In all seriousness, I’m interested to see how this works out. Three locations doesn’t seem a lot, but then again from what I’ve seen so far each level approaches something like Ground Zeroes in terms of complexity and scale. I’m not totally against the idea of episodically released content, as long as Io can avoid major delays.
If you pre-order the full game, you’ll also gain access to a Beta this November.
