In a recent post on Capcom’s official blog, they confirmed issues with the matchmaking system for online player. Unfortunately, this seems to be an ongoing problem that carried over from the original beta in July. Players will still be able to play on PC and PS4, but the post mentions that the matchmaking issue will remain an issue throughout the beta period.
Capcom has stated that the beta will continue as planned, but they do not expect to resolve the problem, explicitly stating that they are “not confident that the matchmaking rate will improve significantly throughout the course of this beta period. That said, user experiences will vary.” At the very least, one of the new features in this beta is a training mode while a player waits for matches. In this mode, the player can practice against a dummy, local second player, or A.I. controlled opponent. While the lack of matchmaking quality is a bummer, at least there’s something to alleviate the boredom of waiting for a match.
The beta will continue through to October 25th for PC and PS4 players. There are no plans to bring the game to Xbox One at this time.
