Ubisoft has released survival horror Zombi (that’s ZombiU without the ‘U’, obviously) on the PC, three years after it made its Wii U debut.
Whether the “upgraded graphics” of the PC version can make up for the lack of second-screen controls – nervously checking your backpack for ammo on your tablet controller was 90% of the fun in the original – remains to be seen.
Zombi is set in an infected London, where undead Beefeaters and half-rotting cab drivers prey on the flesh of the living. And that’s before the zombie outbreak! (ba-dum-tish). The gist is that your character can easily die, and as soon as they do, you start afresh without any supplies. You get into this loop of dying, then looping around to try and grab the supplies and ammo you left behind.
It’s an interesting game, but as I pointed out above, it’s one that seemed exactly matched for the Wii U. I’d be interested to see what developer Straight Right has come up with to justify this port. You can grab Zombi for £14.99.
