The galaxy can be yours from today as Stardock’s space 4X epic Galactic Civilizations III is available for PC conquerors, and takes full advantage of 64-bit systems to power this just-one-more-turn beast.
There are some ”exclusive launch weekend ship parts” available to further customise our fleets. This is their ”largest and most diverse” strategy sandbox to-date, and it’s now available.
”As an absolute ruler in Galactic Civilizations III, the choices you make shape your empire as it inevitably enters into cultural, trade, diplomatic, ideological, and military conflicts with your neighbors. Every empire has multiple paths of victory to pursue.”
“Forging an empire so culturally influential that rival worlds defect to your cause is perfectly viable, so long as you can keep their dropships from landing on your core worlds through literal defenses or soft-power diplomatic maneuvers.”
The studio has ensured Galactic Civilizations III is ”extremely mod-friendly” with an in-game ship designer to let us create the fleet of our despotic dreams. There’s also Internet multiplayer for the first time.
Galactic Civilizations III is available on PC through Steam.
Check out our review for Stardock’s latest Galactic Civilizations III, where we called it a ”colossal box of toys with which you can create some truly memorable stories.” I think we liked it.
