Hey everyone, are you ready for an open world zombie survival game? No, not that one. I mean H1Z1, SOE’s attempt to knock Day Z off its flipping perch.
The title goes into Steam Early Access on Thursday, January 15. Say it with me; “Players should anticipate an evolving feature set, bugs, incomplete content, missing features, and potentially game breaking issues.”
Aside from the inevitable glitches and issues caused by such an early build, it sounds like SOE is packing a decent amount of content in up front. Players can expect “initial iterations of crafting, base building, combat, vehicles, circle-of-death, day / night cycle, weather, player vitals, hunting & forging, and, of course, Zombies.”
The development team will add to that initial content over time, promising that player feedback will play a “major role” in the development process. Some of the planned extras include enhanced military gear, expanded selection of vehicles and weapons, female player characters, player ruleset servers, and “much more.”
Only for the patient zombie fan right now, then. It will be interesting to see how H1Z1 stacks up against the big daddy of the genre. Find it on Steam here.
