As developer Splash Damage announced it would be back in December, post-apocalyptic team-based shooter Dirty Bomb is now available on Steam in open beta form. You can sign up to grab a key now.
The first-person shooter, which has echoes of Splash Damage’s fantastic team-based game Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, takes place in the wasteland of a future London devastated by a virus bomb.
You need to register your email to get one, but it shouldn’t take long for one to get sent over to you. Once you’ve grabbed it you’ll be able to download the client and jump straight in. There are no NDAs or anything to worry about, so streaming and blogging your opinions is fine (no stormtroopers will be sent over to knock on your door), and the game now delivers matchmaking, chat and parties, with “additional Valve solutions coming soon through the Steamworks program”, according to the developers.
The full version of Dirty Bomb will be available this Summer. You can hop on over and register your interest in joining the open beta right here.
