If you spent any time on the internet at all yesterday, you might have noticed that it was Star Wars Day. Which meant that a host of companies were doing their very best to ride the global wave of sweet, sweet nostalgia.
Companies like I Am Bread creator Bossa Studios, which has released a new update entitled ’Starch Wars: A New Loaf’ for its premier toast simulator.
“Shoot down Rye Fighters in the comfort of your own bakery to save the last remaining crumbs of the Rebel Alliance,” reads the studio’s post on Steam. “To play - complete the kitchen and click on the ‘Starch Wars’ fridge magnet. Lots of love and bagels, The I am Bread Team.”
The update takes the form of a third-person camera space shooter, which has you zooming above a planet, taking down biscuit-winged Rye Fighters and ironing-board shaped Starch Destroyers. That’s right, the pun-averse need not apply.
If you though I Am Bread could not possibly get more ridiculous, prepare to be proved wrong. The update is out now as a free download for all owners.
