Splash Damage’s ”first fully owned IP” on PC is now in Open Beta on Steam. The free-to-play Dirty Bomb is an asymmetrical team-based shooter where squads of players do battle in London.
Each specialised mercenary has ”unique personalities and abilities” and there are 12 to choose from in the Open Beta. There will be a rotation of freely availably Mercs to play as starting today.
London has become a post-apocalyptic wasteland with no laws, so it’s a playground for mercenaries to earn their fortunes in this team-based first-person shooter. It’s entirely free-to-play but there’s an Ultimate Starter Pack for £22.99 that includes a bunch of stuff like Mercs, Credits and Loadout Cases.
“Today marks a huge achievement in our studio’s history. Dirty Bomb is our first fully owned IP on PC, and that has allowed us to make exactly the game we wanted,” said Paul Wedgwood, CEO and founder of the UK-based developer. “As a studio, we are dedicated to creating the most entertaining, competitive and collaborative experiences.”
“Dirty Bomb is a showcase of this and of our partnership and collaboration with Nexon. With more than two years of testing by thousands of our fans through closed Alpha and Beta, Dirty Bomb is a game of firsts for us and the industry.”
