Update 1.3 has dropped for Jagex’s very entertaining build-and-shoot-‘em-up Block N Load, bringing with it a brand new character, the pugnacious Sweet Science.
Rather than guns and rocket launchers, this latest hero prefers to rely on the more straightforward method of charging up to enemies and punching them about the guts and face.
“Sweet Science is punch drunk, knockout happy, and he means business,” explains the developer. “Dish out pounding blows with his fists, dash attack or pull enemy heroes towards him, set up gravity traps, disable enemy devices and heal yourself – when the bell rings Sweet Science will be coming at ya!”
In the spirit of madcap chaos, Jagex has also added an ‘experimental mode’ named Ablockalypse, which is designed to speed up play and makes things even more unpredictable. “It’s not meant to be balanced,” says the team, “it’s just meant to be crazy.” Ablockalypse increases damage for all heroes, makes it easier to destroy the environment, and makes several other tweaks to the core game.
