Shinji Mikami’s gory survival horror The Evil Within has had its PC system requirements revealed… and they’re pretty scary in their own right.
As seems to be popular at the moment, there’s no minimum specs, just the recommended ones. You’ll need 4GB of RAM at the least, as well as 50 GB of hard-drive space.
”These specifications are listed as “recommended” as they are the settings we’ve determined ensure that your gameplay experience plays as intended by the development team,” writes Bethesda on the Beth Blog. Whatever you choose to play The Evil Within with, you’ll need at least 4 GBs of VRAM. Which seems a bit much for a game that’s also coming out on the Xbox 360 and PS3, but there you go.
Fingers crossed the game doesn’t suffer from ‘wonky PC port syndrome’. Here’s the specs:
Recommended PC System Specifications
64-bit Windows 7/Windows 8
i7 with four plus cores
4 GBs RAM
50 GB of hard drive space*
GeForce GTX 670 or equivalent with 4GBs of VRAM
High Speed Internet Connection
Steam account and activation
*It’s worth noting that the 50 GB of space required is for the PC install. When the installation is complete, the game will take up ~41 GB of HDD space.
The Evil Within has gone Gold at last, and is out October 14 for PC and consoles. If you’re in the mood for a classic survival horror experience with a few nice, modern updates you’re in for a treat. As long as its runs OK, of course.
