Filmmaker Corridor Studios has teamed up with Warner Bros Games to produce a little live-action movie set in the world of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor.
Okay, so the budget’s clearly not super high, but the team are clearly having fun and there’s a nicely choreographed fight scene and a couple of humorous decapitations.
As the blood starts spraying and the orcs (who appear to be split into two varieties; the ‘blue-skinned Grinch’, and the ‘zombified extra from a Duran Duran video’) start dying, I couldn’t help but start laughing. What in the name of Treebeard would J.R.R Tolkein make of all this?
Anyway, we get to see Talion and his pet wraith do some fancy supernatural moves, and there’s a look at what happens when the ranger uses his weird mind control power. Which turns out to be very useful.
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor hits PC and current-gen consoles this September 30 in the Americas and October 3 in Europe.
