Seven minutes of Battlefield: Hardline has emerged, and rather than the multiplayer mode, which has been detailed fairly extensively, we’re focusing on the singleplayer campaign this time around.
Provided by VG247, the footage shows that at least at the beginning, you’re actually doing some things that feel fairly police officer-y. Tasers and non-lethal takedowns and everything.
There’s definitely a bit of a change of pace here compared to Battlefield 4’s relentless forward motion, but at the end of the day you do mostly end up machine-gunning hordes of enemy goons to death. I’m not sure if Hardline knows entirely what it wants to be, really, but we’ll have to wait and see if it can forge an identity.
Battlefield: Hardline is due out on PC and consoles Spring 2015.
