The attempted robbery took place last night ”around 7:20 pm after all the staff had left,” leaving Bowling and their lead FX artist in the office. Bowling heard the commotion and confronted them.
Last year Robotoki had another forced entry of sorts by armed police who responded to calls of an armed intruder at the building, which was actually a Call of Duty prop.
”At around 7:20 p.m. after all the staff had left, with exception to myself and our lead FX artist, two males approached the front door of Robotoki and hit the security glass with a rock and began kicking in the weakened glass,” Robert Bowling told Polygon. ”I began running towards the lobby from my second floor office as soon as I heard the rock hit. I confronted the two males in the lobby, where only one had gained entry.”
He proceeded to tweet about the incident and even released CCTV footage to help. Fortunately nothing had been taken from the studio although all their work receives ”triple redundant back up physically and in the cloud.” Currently Robotoki is developing Human Element, a zombie apocalypse survival for 2015.
