We finally have a release date for Red Thread’s adventure game sequel to The Longest Journey and Dreamfall: The Longest Journey (yes, those are two different games) - Dreamfall Chapters: Book One is on the way this October 21.
The Kickstarter-funded title takes place in two parallel universes; a cyberpunk future Earth, and the magical fantasy land of Arcadia.
Dreamfall Chapters’ crowd-funding campaign raised over $1.5 million, with additional funding provided by the Norwegian Film Institute. Previous protagonists Zoë Castillo and Kian Alvane return, and they’re joined by an as yet unnamed third hero. Although it’s a continuation of an ongoing saga, Red Thread have said repeatedly that they want newcomers to be able to jump right in.
As usual your choices and decisions will impact the story, causing it to spin off in wildly different directions. Expect many puzzles and lots of dimension-hopping.
Dreamfall Chapters: Book One packs together the prologue, chapters one and two, and an interlude. Five books are planned in the series.
