Aha! The latest buzzword feature for this year’s edition of FIFA has been revealed - it’s called ‘Correct Contacts’, and basically it makes ball physics much more realistic. Which is great, but do we really need a fancy name for it, EA Sports?
Anyway, FIFA 15 will also have a reworked dribbling system, which aims to more accurately simulate the lightning fast turns and agile slaloms of players like Messi.
I like the sound of this. Movement in FIFA 14 tended to feel somewhat restrictive, with even top drawer players lacking the ability to quickly adjust their run to glide past a defender. As a result a superstar dribbler like Messi never really felt all that different from any other reasonably fast dude.
This should help make him into an offensive beast, if it works as planned. What else? Ah, yes, defending has also been tweaked a bit, with better and more physical struggles between defenders and attackers. Defensively skilled players like Mats Hummels will be able to judge their tackles just so, allowing them to keep the ball in close control and immediately move forward.
All of which sounds pretty tidy. FIFA 15 comes out on PC and consoles September 25 in North America and September 26 in Europe.
