Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes announced by Hideo

Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima has announced MGS: Ground Zeroes at at special 25th anniversary event for the franchise.

The game is open world and utilises the FOX engine. A demo showed Snake or Big Boss (it hasn’t been confirmed) avoiding searchlights before eliminating a guard and calling in a helicopter to escape. So far, so very MGS.

Kojima also used the event to confirm a Metal Gear Solid film is in the works. This will be worked on by Marvel producer Avi Arad for Columbia Pictures.

Metal Gear Solid: Special Ops, a mobile game for GREE, was also shown.
