If the analyst had to bet, ”I’d say you’d get an announcement on GTA V the day before E3 starts,” and then the entire E3 show would be dominated by people talking about it.
”They’ve outgrown the show. I think they’re way too cool to go,” said Michael Pachter. The last time Rockstar had some kind of presence at E3 was 3 years ago at Sony’s E3 press event. We’ve yet to receive any information on the Rockstar North action title that was declared a PlayStation 3 exclusive.
“My read on those guys is they like stealing the thunder from everything else. So if I had to bet, I’d say you’d get an announcement on GTA V the day before E3 starts, that’d be Monday, June 4. they don’t show up and that’s all anybody can do is talk about GTA V at the show,” added analyst Pachter.
Microsoft and Sony hold their E3 press events June 4th.
He also believes that GTA V will be likely out October 23rd, a few days after BioShock Infinite. Rockstar ”don’t care about the 2K game”, he continued. GTA V debut via a trailer last November teasing the setup.
It’s unlikely that 2K would want BioShock Infinite and GTA V to compete against one another - it only hurts them.
