Microsoft to open new Xbox studio in London

Microsoft is set to open a new London-based studio.

The company is currently hiring senior staff, and the studio is planned to sit alongside the publisher’s other UK based teams Rare, Lionhead, and Soho Studios.

Speaking to MCV, Microsoft announced: ”EMEA is a key market for us and we continue to cultivate the best talent and focus on growing our business, with this role focused on the continued expansion of our Microsoft Studios business in the region.”

It is likely this new team will focus on free-to-play and mobile titles, as job listings point towards those who have experience with online and cloud services.
