Square-Enix is trying to entice players who bailed out on Final Fantasy XIV back by offering a free trial for ex-subscribers from the 9th May to 20th May, which will allow them to try out the MMO’s new features.
Players who have stuck with Final Fantasy XIV and are current subscribers will be inducted into the MMO’s “Legacy Campaign.” Basically, it lowers the subscriber’s monthly payment of $15/month to $10/month, and adds their name to the game’s credits. (It’ll be amusing to see how long a list that is.)
In order to qualify for Legacy Campaign status, the player must have been playing for at least 90 days between the 6th January through to the version 2.0 beta testing, and benefits begin when version 2.0 launches.
Final Fantasy XIV launched on the 30th September 2010, and received savage reviews, including a 4.5/10 score from Strategy Informer. Read the review here.
