Square Enix focusing on new games, not Final Fantasy VII remake

In this week’s Famitsu, Final Fantasy VII character designer turned director Tetsuya Nomura said a remake of the PS1 classic is not top of Square Enix’s priority list.

Instead, Nomura wants to work on new games that can live up to VII’s legacy. Despite pleads from series fans for the remake, Nomura has told Final Fantasy veterans to have faith with Yoshiri Kitase, who has taken the reigns of the much-loved series.
