It seems that Battlefield 3 developer DICE is hiring talent to help them work on next-generation consoles, according to a senior software engineer job listing posted at Gamasutra.
”We are now looking for experienced developers to join our game teams at DICE. As a Senior Software Developer you will be a core part of an AAA game team where you will work with the Frostbite engine tech. We believe in tailoring the role for the individual but tasks might include implementing new features and workflows for content creators, keeping track of performance and memory and optimizing for current- and next gen,” the ad requests.
DICE has been fairly vocal in the past year about the unannounced next generation of consoles. A year ago, DICE proclaimed that Battlefield 3 would “scale up” to look good on Microsoft and Sony’s next platforms. ”If (Microsoft or Sony) were to release a new console tomorrow, the engine would scale onto that platform,” DICE executive producer Patrick Bach insisted at the time.
A few weeks ago, DICE stated that 2GB of RAM wouldn’t be enough for the next gen consoles.
