From July 19th 6,000 tickets go on sale for $150 each. Activision wants their very own Call of Duty ‘BlizzCon’ to start up. It’s for 2 two days and you must be 18+.
All proceeds from the ticket sales go to the Call of Duty: Endowment charity which pays out to help war veterans re-adjust to a civilian life after time on the frontlines. The convention takes place in Los Angeles within a 12-acre compound so they can dress it up.
Multiplayer map Scrapyard will be recreated at the facility as a real-life paintball arena. The Pit will also get a look-in as a timed assault course as well. The Burger Town fast-food from the game will actually be serving up food for attendees.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 gets a multiplayer ‘XP’ event and Call of Duty: Elite will be fully detailed at the convention so we know exactly what it will do. There’ll be keynotes from developers, and competitions at XP. Can it achieve ‘BlizzCon’ status?
There’s a total of $1 million in prize money to be earned. Check out the newly launched Call of Duty XP website to find out more information.
