PAX 2011: No Halo 4 beta invite in Halo: CE Anniversary

During the Halo 4 panel at HaloFest, gamers were disappointed to learn that Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition wouldn’t include a code for a Halo 4 multiplayer beta, something that has become de rigueur in the Halo series, as well as others.

According to 343 Industries creative director Frank O’Connor, ”A lot of people have been asking about this, and we probably should have clarified sooner, but there won’t be a multiplayer beta in the Anniversary Edition.”

One prime reason is that Halo 4 won’t be available for over a year, but could another reason be that Halo 4 is being developed for the Xbox 720?
