In fact they cite a ”modified” version of I Am Alive being classified just days ago on August 22nd. It’s got ”strong themes” as well as strong violence now.
The original ratings classification which was posted back in June is still listed, but the new updated entry arrives in the wake of a leaked trailer for Ubisoft Shanghai’s I Am Alive. A LinkedIn profile mentions it as a ”non-kill oriented FPS” emphasising threats.
Darkworks was the original developer for the Chicago earthquake-set survival game, but Ubisoft Shanghai took over the project. The online CV of a senior game designer reveals that the Ubisoft studio has some interesting ambitions themselves.
A senior developer is working on a ”non-kill oriented FPS shooting system involving group AI behaviours where threats and wounding were promoted over murder as the most effective gameplay mechanic”. This was shown in the leaked trailer for I Am Alive.
Originally intended for full retail, I Am Alive now heads for XBLA and PSN.
