Sledgehammer Games’ General Manager Glen Schofield made a subtle dig at the recent Battledfield 3 beta when he was rebuking a fan for stating BF3’s 8 Million testers, was a ”proper stress test”, as opposed to Call of Duty Elite’s mere 1000.
In a tweet, Schofield replied saying, ”We had well over 1000. IW has years of experience with the biggest MP game ever. I surely didn’t (see) bugs like I saw elsewhere.”
Whilst he didn’t mention DICE’s rival by name, Schofield was likely referring to the problems players experienced during the Battlefield 3 beta, including inability of friends to join a squad together, terrain instability, map holes, and Origin connection problems.
When we spoke to DICE about the beta, they mentioned that the whole thing was more of a benchmarking exercise than anything else, and that it was using old code.
