Also they’ve got some games coming for Xbox 360 and Kinect over the next year. There’s first and third-party goodness like Halo and Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
We are the champions, my friends. ”We’ve been very clear that our ambition is to be the number one console not only in Europe but worldwide, and looking at our line-up at gamescom while knowing what’s still in the pipeline, I’m confident we have the games and experiences to drive us toward that goal,” said Microsoft Europe’s Chris Lewis.
”Consumers of all ages continue to be captivated and entertained by everything Xbox 360 and Kinect have to offer and our commitment to the core remains undeniable.”
During Gamescom this week they’ll have Gears of War playable ”in Germany for the very first time.” The upcoming Gears of War 3 has been approved by the German ratings board and so goes on sale this September.
They’ve also got Forza Motorsport 4 doing some PR laps at their Gamescom booth, plus Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary will be strutting its HD stuff.
Some big name third-party titles will be showcasing as well like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, FIFA 12 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
Microsoft also talks up their Kinect catalogue with a slew of newcomers in bound. There’s The Gunstringer, due out September 13th, and Dance Central 2 due later in October. Frankly there’s loads of stuff so keep an eye out for more Gamescom 2011 goodies.
