Call of Duty XP didn’t have the attendance that Activision was hoping for as the first Call of Duty convention, however, the publisher is claiming that the live stream had the second highest viewership for any event.
In an interview with IndustryGamers, Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg claimed: “Livestream, the company that broadcast the event for us, indicated that it’s the second most viewed event in history.”
Which event was the only one to beat out Call of Duty XP? None other than the live coverage of the recent Royal Wedding. The convention beat out a speech by US President Barack Obama, which has been dropped into third place.
