Rocksmith is Ubisoft’s entry into the music genre, which is currently in its nadir of popularity. The gimmick for Rocksmith is that the focus is completely on guitar playing using real guitars. However, European gamers will have to wait months after the North American release due to what Ubisoft describes as problems with ”music licensing and other external factors.”
This was revealed in a posting on its Facebook page. Importing will be problematic for those gamers in Europe as the Xbox 360 is region-locked, and even though the PlayStation 3 is region free, it will not be PAL compatible. No matter what the case, the DLC would be region specific, and therefore locked out of countries which don’t have the game.
There is no word on the situation for the PC version of Rocksmith.
