The Indie Game Challenge announced that Playdead’s smash Xbox Live Arcade hit Limbo and Team Hermes’ experimental Inertia were the big winners, to close the 2011 D.I.C.E. Summit in Las Vegas.
Limbo and Inertia won multiple awards and big cash prizes that were given with each award.
Limbo won Best Professional Game and Achievement in Art Direction, netting Playdead a cool $117,500. Meanwhile, Inertia won four awards including Best Non-Professional Game, Technical Achievement, Achievement in Gameplay and the Gamer’s Choice Award, which adds up to a $130,000.
If you’ve never heard of Inertia, the game was released last October on Xbox Live Indie, and you can check it out here; it only costs 80 MSP ($1 USD). If you’ve never heard of Limbo, there’s something wrong with you.
