The EA conference began by announcing that the Mass Effect 3 release date is March 6th, 2012, before showing a substantial gameplay demonstration.
In the demo, Commander Shepard attempts to destroy a reaper base. The demo showcases combat, in particular new melee attacks using the omni-tool, and a target painter used to call in aerial bombardments.
The demo also gives us a glimpse of some returning characters. Joker, Legion Liara, Garrus are all featured in the demonstration.
Project lead Casey Hudson states that ”We’re giving our long time fans the amazing opportunity they’ve been waiting for to see how all the choices they’ve made along the way have led to this critical breaking point…this is all out galactic war.”
