A closed beta should hopefully kick off late next month if ”everything goes exactly” right. It’s been renamed to APB Reloaded with info coming soon.
”If everything goes exactly like the plan , the Closed Beta will be launched somewhere in late February”, twittered the team behind the new APB. GamersFirst will be relaunching the troubled online world as a free-to-play MMO shooter.
Firstly the new owners want the game up and running once more with an unreleased patch out the door soon after, and to open up previously locked zones to all players. Then the team will start to implement some microtransaction features.
GamersFirst also hope to tap into the South American gamer market, specifically Brazil, to help grow the player base. The closed beta will likely be offered to all if not most of the former APB users, as well as to those who sign up on the official website.
