Traviss has so far written two books set in the Gears universe.
“We’ve always carefully integrated the books and the games, but now that Karen’s writing the game as well, the storyline is even more tightly woven,” said Epic exec producer Rod Fergusson.
Traviss is better known for her work in the Star Wars expanded universe, however she recently stopped doing those novels because changes in continuity meant she couldn’t continue with many of her flagship series.
