Now If I’m not mistaken, you can buy entire games for that amount of money, even over Xbox Live. Bowling listed the specifics regarding the pack on the latest Major Nelson podcast:
* Bailout – An “overrun apartment complex”.
* Storm – An industrial park “in the middle of a rainy downpour, tense thunderstorm”.
* Salvage – An abandoned junkyard, with a “snowy terrain”.
* Crash – Urban map with a downed helicopter, one of the classics from COD4.
* Overgrown – It’s “wide open, great for snipers”, the other map from Modern Warfare 1.
The Variety Map pack for Call of Duty 4 had four maps, and was 800 MS points. Since this pack has 5 maps, Activision seems to be charging an extra 400 points just for a map.
Are they getting greedy? Or are they simply adjusting their prices based on consumer demand? Either way, with everything else going on with those guys at the moment, I doubt gamers will be pleased.
