Capcom has confirmed that PC Dead Rising 2 uses Microsoft’s full suite of Games for Windows Live, so that’s achievements and matchmaking.
It joins previous Capcom PC titles Street Fighter IV, Resident Evil 5 and Dark Void. The question popped up when the PC branding was spotted.
There is a clear distinction between the Games for Windows and the Games for Windows Live packaging for PC games, as the latter fully implements the Xbox Live-style approach to handling online multiplayer features.
”Yes, DR2 uses Games for Windows Live (I don’t feel bad confirming that since as you’ve pointed out, it’s on the box),” posted Capcom’s Christian Svensson on the forum. Dead Rising 2 releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC October 1st in Europe.
