It seems Max Payne 3, being developed by Rockstar Games, is the casualty. That means Civilization V, LA Noire and Mafia II are still on track.
”While we do not take the movement of any title lightly, our recent success with Red Dead Redemption illustrates the importance and the benefit of giving a title the time it needs in order to fulfill its potential in the marketplace,” said Ben Feder of Take-Two.
Max Payne 3 was scheduled to be out at retail by Q4 of this fiscal year, which meant a date before October 31st, 2010. Now it has slid right into next fiscal some time. Fortunately that means Mafia II won’t get a big delay all of a sudden - it’s out August end.
It also means that Civilization V and Rockstar’s LA Noire is safe from delay too, and NBA 2K11 and NHL2K11 from 2K Sports. This last fiscal quarter saw revenues up by 54 percent for Take-Two, which they thanked BioShock 2 and Episodes from Liberty City for.
