They’ll happen ”between now” and Heart of the Swarm’s release. That puts the expansion around spring 2012. It won’t be at this month’s Blizzcon.
Battle.net project director Craig Canessa said that trading, broadcasting replays and profile upgrades were “a main area of focus we’re going to be seeing on the StarCraft side over the next 18 months between now and Heart of the Swarm.”
Currently Blizzard has World of Warcraft: Cataclysm which is due December 7th, Diablo III releasing in the ”next few years”, StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm by at least 2012 and their secret MMO project all on the go.
Blizzcon runs from October 22nd to the 23rd but won’t be showcasing any Heart of the Swarm, which is the Zerg focused campaign following the Terran’s Wings of Liberty. Does an 18 month wait devastate your inner Zerg, videogamer?
