The Paradox Interactive Forums has a thread which reports on some bad news regarding Lost Empire: Immortals. It appears that the development team behind the game, Pollux Gamelabs, have halted all productions due to financial constraints, which means future support for Lost Empire could cease to exist.
Due to financial constraints, all production at Pollux Gamelabs has currently been halted. At present we do not know what exact implications this will have for future support of Lost Empire: Immortals.
The support mail is being read but at the moment we cannot guarantee a 100% response rate nor response time.
The best place to start in case of a problem is reading the stickies at the Technical Support forum: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum…splay.php?f=399
The most common problem is a missing prerequisite, which cause an error in the installer detection. The following requirements are needed to run Lost Empire - Immortals, and can be found in the “prerequisites” folder of the installer/cd-rom.
DirectX DirectX NET20 VCREDIST XNA 1.0 Refresh
For Vista NET2.0 is not needed and cannot be installed.
It is important to notice that even though you have DirectX9 installed you might not have all components, so run the DirectX installer. The newest DirectX installer can be found here:

Also notice that even though you have Vista and DirectX10 you still need to install DirectX9 because DirectX10 does not replace DirectX9.
There is a patch 1.0.3 out, details on that located here:

Notice that savegames from 1.0.0 does not work in 1.0.3.
